Witold, an activist from Berezovka and a member of the Belarusian Popular Front party, as well as the coordinator of the For Freedom movement, was detained in September 2020 and later convicted for participating in protests. He served his sentence until his death, which occurred under unclear circumstances. No criminal case was opened into his death, and the official version points to “cardiac arrest.” Relatives and associates of the political prisoner consider his death to be violent, which is confirmed by former political prisoners.
On May 21, 2021, Witold died in a colony in Shklov.
