A participant in the violent suppression of peaceful protests, using physical and psychological violence against participants. He was a victim in the case of Ilya Fren, who was convicted under Article 364 of the Criminal Code. He was accused of violence against two OMON officers while defending a protester from arrest. Ilya received a four-year sentence in a general-security penal colony. Samoletov also filed a civil claim for 500 rubles in moral damages. He explained that he was concerned that a police officer could be beaten while performing his official duties and that this could happen again.
