Yuri served as a police officer in the Lida security department and worked as a security guard after retiring. When the investigation became known, he was forced to resign. Yuri was arrested right at his workplace, at the Euroopt store.
According to the prosecution, he reposted a post on his Odnoklassniki page criticizing the election campaign and results, which was deemed slanderous and attributable to Lukashenko serious crimes. He also published the same material on the Telegram channels "Krynica-Chat" and "Ikhtyandry Grodna." The court sentenced him to restricted freedom with a referral order. He was convicted of administering the telegram channel “Board of Shame Lida, Dyatlovo, Shchuchin, Voronovo, Ivye, Berezovka, Novogrudok.”

His trial took place in Lida on January 20, under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (“Insulting a representative of the authorities”). The victim was the head of the press service of the Grodno police, Yevgeny Dudko , who demanded 3 thousand rubles in moral compensation for the information posted about him on the channel. Ivan was also given two years of “homemade” chemotherapy.

Ivan Kasperovich filed an appeal against the verdict. Evgeny Dudko also filed an appeal together with the prosecutor - they say that if the activist stays at home, he will again administer telegram channels. As a result, on March 25, a new trial was held, at which two years of “homemade” chemotherapy were replaced by two years of real chemotherapy, with a referral to an open institution. Compensation for moral damage was reduced to 1.5 thousand rubles.
