Elena was arrested along with her husband in September 2021 as part of a criminal case opened under the article "organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them."
In February 2022, she was convicted in the so-called "Milky World" case for participating in a peaceful protest that took place on September 6, 2020, in Grodno, as well as for "violence against a police officer," and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
She was released in January 2024, having fully served her sentence.

He was released in January 2024, having fully served his sentence.
