He acted as a state prosecutor in courts on politically motivated cases. On May 28, the Gomel Regional Court began considering the case of Dmitry Kanevsky, where Asadchiy acted as a state prosecutor. For an "aggressive comment" about the riot police in the Telegram chat "Gomel Soviet 97", the accused was sentenced to 3 years in prison, which Asadchiy demanded. He acted as a state prosecutor in the trial of journalist Larisa Shiryakova, who was found guilty under Article 369-1 and Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 361-4 for collecting, creating, processing, storing and transmitting information for the information resources Viasna and Belsat. The woman was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of 100 basic units.

Dmitry, the son of well-known social activist Tatyana Kanevskaya, was detained on January 27, 2021 for a comment on a Telegram channel and convicted of “deliberate actions aimed at inciting racial, religious, social and other hatred.”

In October 2023, he was released, having fully served his sentence.
