On January 24, 2023, a trial to commute Sergei's sentence was held in the Kamenets District Court. Judge OksanaShkel rejected the Correctional Institution's motion to transfer him to a penal colony.
According to human rights activists, he will be released in the fall of 2025.
Artem was arrested on October 19, 2020 and sentenced to three years in prison in an open-type correctional facility for participating in protests against the election results in Minsk in August 2020. In early February 2022, Artem escaped from the correctional facility, but was later arrested again.
In April 2022, the court considered the case of Artem's transfer to a different type of correctional facility and changing the conditions of his sentence. The court ordered that he be sent to a penal colony for nine months.
He was released in March 2023, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.
