Accomplice to crimes against the rights and freedoms of Belarusian citizens. Dmitry Petrovich Krechko is a member of the security forces involved in politically motivated repressions, during which thousands of peaceful demonstrators, several hundred journalists, human rights defenders, and activists were detained and subjected to violence. He personally participated in the violent suppression of protests, using physical and psychological violence. Krechko was a victim in the case against Vladislav Ershov, who was found guilty of insulting a government official under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
According to the prosecution, Ershov posted leaflets on residential buildings along Moskovskaya and Orlovskaya Streets in Brest. The leaflets contained photographs of police officers and texts "contrary to universal morality" and "found in an indecent manner." Specifically, the leaflets contained information that the victims in the criminal case had participated in violent dispersals of peaceful protests and the beating of civilians.
The man was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom without being sent to an open correctional facility.
