The Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case against Vodonosova. The prosecution was motivated by a video lecture titled "The Main Myth of World War II: The Assassination of Gauleiter Wilhelm Kube. What's Wrong?" The Investigative Committee believes that the Belarusian's videos allegedly "glorify the Nazi criminal Wilhelm Kube and the collaborators—the accomplices of the occupiers—from the 'Auxiliary Police' and the 'Belarusian Central Rada.'"
Vodonosova has long been involved in educational activities in various formats, from restoring historical costumes to giving lectures on Belarusian history. She categorically disagrees with the prosecutor's charges.
"Of course, there was no rehabilitation of Nazism. There is a course of educational lectures... We at the 'Budzma Belarusians!' channel try to approach any historical topic comprehensively and as objectively as possible. And I did not glorify Wilhelm Kube," the Belarusian woman said .
In her opinion , any interpretation of the events of World War II or the Great Patriotic War that differs from the official one could now fall under the same criminal statute: "This topic is now so taboo in Belarus that any attempt at historical analysis is considered a crime."
