He was detained and sentenced for participating in a protest that took place on November 1, 2020 in Minsk, to 3 years of restriction of freedom and sent to an open correctional facility. However, in September 2021 it became known that Ivan was convicted again under Art. 328 or 327 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
Released in December 2023 after fully serving the sentence imposed by the court.
