Craftswoman, artist and writer from Polotsk.

Human rights activists are aware of several facts of administrative prosecution of Nelly Alferova. The woman spoke about some of them in one of her video messages to Lukashenko and senior government officials in 2021; the details of others were clarified in the courts.

In 2020, the Polotsk resident was an observer in the presidential elections. At that time, the security forces already had special records of her.

At the end of 2021, the woman decided to leave Belarus with her son. In the videos, she talked about the problems she had to face in emigration. The host of the program on the pro-government TV channel "Zvyazda" thanked Alferova for her sincerity and invited her to return home as soon as possible. Belarusian emigrant acquaintances offered the woman both practical and financial help. But she refused and at the same time “looked depressed, broken.” The woman indeed soon returned to Belarus.

At the end of 2023, texts criticizing the current Belarusian authorities periodically appeared on the pages of Nelly Alferova. And at the same time, the woman wrote that she was being secretly stalked, that she found hidden video cameras in her apartment...

Also on the Polotsk resident’s social networks, you can see many reposts from Internet resources recognized as “extremist.” Probably the police noticed this and detained Nellie.
