The motive is "avoiding lustration after the change of power."
In addition to the prison term, Sergei was sentenced to a fine of 500 basic units (16,000 Belarusian rubles).
Dmitry was accused of participating in protests that took place in Minsk in 2020 and sentenced to restricted freedom and placement in an open-type facility.
He was released in the fall of 2024, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.
