Alexander Vladimirovich Kornienko

Political prisoner Vitold Ashurok, who was given more than ten penalties on trumped-up grounds and sent to solitary confinement, from which he never left, died in this colony.

Vitold, an activist from Berezovka and a member of the BPF party, as well as the coordinator of the For Freedom movement, was detained in September 2020 and later convicted of participating in protests. He served his sentence until his death, which occurred under unclear circumstances. No criminal case was opened into his death, and the official version points to "cardiac arrest." The relatives and associates of the political prisoner consider his death to be violent, which is also confirmed by former political prisoners.
On May 21, 2021, Vitold died in penal colony No. 17 in Shklov.
Vladimir was arrested on August 18, 2020, in the so-called "Korelichi case" related to alleged unrest in Korelichi and Navahrudak following the presidential election. He was convicted of "organizing mass unrest" and insulting Lukashenko.
In Correctional Colony No. 17, Vladimir was subjected to systematic beatings and biased treatment, including frequent placement in a punishment cell and a cell-type facility.
In April 2023, his sentence was increased and he was transferred to prison.
On December 13, 2025, he was released following a visit to Minsk by U.S. President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy, John Cole, and was taken to Ukraine.

In June 2023 and May 2024, he was convicted twice of "malicious disobedience to the demands of the prison administration." This article is used to try prisoners who refuse to cooperate with the administration, often on trumped-up charges. As a result, his sentence was extended by two years, to five years.
According to human rights activists, he will be released in May 2025 after completing his sentence.

Evgeny was detained and convicted for a clash with the police during a protest that took place on the night of August 9-10, 2020 in Borisov against falsifications in the presidential elections.
In 2021, he was transferred to a prison regime, and in 2023, he was re-convicted of “malicious disobedience to the demands of the administration of a correctional institution,” a charge often applied to prisoners who refuse to cooperate with prison authorities.
According to human rights activists, Evgeny was released in early February 2024, having fully served his sentence imposed by the court, since preventive supervision was established over him in January.

Ivan was arrested in October 2019 and convicted of attacks on the buildings of Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 and the Minsk City Court in Minsk in solidarity with political prisoners. He was initially sentenced to 7 years in prison, but after an appeal, the term was reduced to 3.5 years. In February 2021, he was transferred to prison until the end of his sentence.
He was released on parole on January 29, 2022. According to the document issued upon release, his term of imprisonment was reduced by 1 year as part of the amnesty of May 15, 2020. The remaining part of the term was taken into account according to the scheme: 1.5 days in a pretrial detention center for 1 day in a penal colony.

Alexey is a Belarusian MMA fighter, multiple world champion in kickboxing and Thai boxing, and Honored Master of Sports of Belarus. He was detained on August 10, 2020, on the central square in Molodechno. After two weeks in the police department and pretrial detention center, he was released under house arrest. When Alexey failed to appear for his first court hearing on November 19, 2020, he was put on the wanted list.
In January 2021, he was detained in Moscow and six months later extradited to Belarus, despite a ban by the European Court of Human Rights. Alexey was convicted on charges of resisting police officers.
On December 28, 2022, he was released, having fully served his sentence imposed by the court.
