Human rights activists received information that on March 3, Maxim Lopatin was detained by employees of the State Security Committee in the case of sabotage in Machulishchi. The man is being held in the pre-trial detention center of the State Security Committee.

Lopatin was severely beaten during the arrest. A film was released on ONT, which tells about some high-profile detentions, including the mention of Maxim. Allegedly his friend is a psychotherapist Evgenia Tochinskaya, who lives in Poland, asked to bring a Ukrainian agent Shvets from Stolin to the Lagoy highway on February 27.

The video shows that the man has dentures on his jaw, which may mean that it was broken. After splinting, there should be a serious stage of rehabilitation with eating and drinking water through a tube.

On March 23, Maxim's wife, Lyudmila Lopatina, was also detained. 

The couple has two juvenile children.

According to the investigation, in different periods of time from May 1, 2020 to May 23, 2022, Shumilov published four posts in Odnoklassniki with satirical images, in which the investigation considered insulting Lukashenka and government officials, as well as slandering Lukashenka. It is known that on one of the images Lukashenka, together with the listed persons, is depicted as prisoners who are kept in a prison cell. At the trial, Igor fully admitted his guilt. He explained that the publications on his page appeared only after he "liked" these posts. He himself did not understand at that time that these drawings could be regarded as an insult.

Ruslan, a businessman, founder and former director of the Spanish visa center in Minsk, was detained by KGB officers in October 2021 at the airport when he was about to leave Belarus. The detention took place as part of a criminal case initiated for political reasons.

In March 2023, Ruslan was convicted of bribery and treason. The court sentenced him to a long prison term and a large fine.

In August 2024, the conditions of his detention were tightened - Ruslan was transferred to prison regime. Since then, he has been prohibited from receiving parcels, visits and other forms of support. He is allowed to use no more than one basic unit per month for personal needs.

Convicted for comments and reposts of videos in social networks, which allegedly were offensive and discrediting in relation to the representatives of the authorities of A.G. Lukashenko.

In early June 2022, he illegally collected information about the private life and personal data of an employee of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, after which he published them in the Telegram chat «Novaya Borovaya 98%».

Maxim is a Minsk resident. Has a higher education. The man is divorced. He once worked as a security guard, later as a builder. Then he opened an individual entrepreneur and erected monuments in the cemetery. I've been unemployed lately.

Friends recall that Maxim served his military service in one of the Minsk “special forces” units.

Maxim is accused of blowing up a police car near the Central District Department of Internal Affairs.

The incident happened on the night of January 7-8, 2022, not far from the building of the Central District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk. A criminal case has been opened for blowing up a car under Article 289 (repeated act of terrorism).

Investigators later added that on the night of January 13, he allegedly damaged the Tabakerka kiosk and a trash can in the same way.

On May 26, 2023, the appeal was considered and the verdict entered into force.

According to the materials of the investigation, from February 2021 to October 2022, from February 2021 to October 2022, Nikolai Korol posted messages in various instant messengers in which he outlined slanderous fabrications against Lukashenko, publicly insulted him, as well as the leaders of the Central Election Commission and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, a number of other state servants and a judge.

On October 11, 2022, he, in order to facilitate the activities of the destructive Telegram channel, whose information products were previously recognized by the court as extremist materials, produced and sent a message about the movement of military aircraft in the Brest region.

Sergey is originally from Kherson, Ukraine, but has lived in Belarus almost all his life. He has worked in various blue-collar jobs all his life. He has two minor children.

The man was detained in February 2023. In a pro-government video, he says that he left comments on Telegram and registered with the Plan Peramoga chatbot. He was first convicted in October 2023 for "inciting other social hatred" (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code).

On 08.12.2023, the appeal was heard and the verdict came into force.

Sergei's next trial will begin on September 27, 2024, in the Minsk City Court. He is charged under four articles - "participation in an extremist group" (Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code), "incitement of other social hatred" (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code), "insulting a government official" (Article 369 of the Criminal Code), and "insulting Lukashenko" (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code). Sergei faces up to five years in prison in addition to his previous term.

The man was convicted for leaving publications in his ok.ru profile that contained humiliating information about Lukashenko. According to the prosecution, their goal was to publicly damage the authority of the state authorities and spread knowingly false information that humiliates Lukashenko.

Ivan was detained on January 5, 2023, received 13 days of administrative arrest, and on January 18, criminal charges were brought.

There were at least nine hearings in the case. There were many witnesses at the trial who testified against him. Yevgeny was accused of administering the channel and urging Belarusians to take part in protests, editing posts, etc.

Dmitry was found guilty of insulting Lukashenko and two policemen.

He was sentenced to imprisonment in the fall of 2022 for "insulting Lukashenko." The outcome of his appeal is unknown.

In June 2025, it became known that Vladimir had been detained. The details of the case are being investigated. In the fall, he was sentenced to imprisonment.

Andrey Fomin is 29 years old, he hails from Mogilev, but lived in Minsk. The guy graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. In the video of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was forced to say that he was the editor and author of articles for the «Vestniki» newspaper network. According to information from activists of the ByProsvet initiative, Andrey did not have access to newspaper accounts and did not know those who distribute them in Belarus.

As a result, the guy was charged for participating in the March on August 30, 2020 and transferred to the pre-trial detention center-1. Andrey fundamentally did not want to leave his country, he is writing a book, six cats are waiting for him at home.

The Belarusian state TV channel reported that Alexander transferred about 800 US dollars to BYPOL in May 2021. It is worth noting that BYPOL was recognized as an extremist organization in November 2021, meaning that at the time of the transfer, the initiative was not extremist.

According to witnesses, Alexander was indeed offered compensation for the damage through a fund associated with the president. He agreed to such compensation in exchange for his release, but things did not go according to plan. Alexander was refused, and his money (about 30 bitcoins) was confiscated. The BYPOL organization was recognized as a "terrorist formation", and a new criminal case was opened against Alexander under the article "Financing terrorist activity".

On March 15, 2024, in the Minsk City Court, Judge Elena Shilkо issued a new sentence – 9 years of imprisonment. The waves of pardons that swept across the country did not affect the political prisoner.
