She denied political prisoners access to lawyers, and if lawyers persisted, she ordered penalties imposed on the prisoners, resulting in their placement in solitary confinement.
Under her instructions, junior staff found excuses to deny political prisoners short-term visits, citing cleaning or a waiting list.
