According to the prosecution , while in Germany, the man posted several comments in a Telegram chat on August 28, September 7, and September 27, 2021, "containing obscene language" addressed to the heads of police departments.

Dmitry Polyakov later returned to his homeland and was arrested. He pleaded guilty. On January 29, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to eighteen months in a general regime penal colony. He was also fined 100 basic units (4,000 rubles) and ordered to pay a total of 5,500 rubles to three "victims."

An appeal court hearing will take place on April 16, 2024.

His health has deteriorated significantly behind bars. His vision has become particularly acute : he can see practically nothing in one eye , and only 50% of the vision in the other.

According to human rights activists, he will be released in the spring of 2025.

A former Afghan veteran and a man of principled civic stance, his wife, Oksana Lisitsa, is the director of the Vysochanskaya Basic School and a member of the 28th District Council. Vladimir Lisitsa was born in Ukraine, and his profile picture on Odnoklassniki features a Ukrainian flag. The content of this page, which has now been largely deleted, was investigated by the Liozno District Prosecutor's Office, which determined that "the information on the personal page of 'Volodymyr Lisitsa' on the social network 'Odnoklassniki' contains signs of activity aimed at facilitating extremist activity, training, or other preparation for participation in such activity." According to the investigation , Vladimir Lisitsa also made comments addressed to several other well-known individuals in Belarus: "publicly obscene comments were made about the military commissar of the Gomel region, A. V. Krivonosov; deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, A. S. Gaidukevich; chairman of the Glubokoye district executive committee, A. N. Shubsky; and A. G. Lukashenko." According to the court verdict, Mr. Lisitsa must serve three years in a general-regime penal colony and also pay a fine of 7,400 rubles and compensation for the moral school to two plaintiffs—A. Shved, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, and I. Medvedsky, deputy of the Novopolotsk city council—3,000 rubles each.

On March 5, 2024, the appeal was heard and the verdict came into force.

In February 2026, he was released , having fully served his sentence.

According to Alexander's family, the problems began after he went to observe the polling station at his registered address in the village of Farinovo. He filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding a serious violation of the electoral code, citing an unsealed ballot box. Afterward, on August 12, 2020, police officers arrived at Evgeny's workplace and detained him, but they soon released him.

Evgeny was arrested again in January 2021 as part of a criminal case opened under the articles "inciting social discord," "insulting a government official," and "preparing and organizing group actions that grossly violate public order."

Evgeny was convicted in September 2021 and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony, as well as to pay substantial compensation to the "victims." At the sentencing, Evgeny's parents brought printed color photographs of his three-month-old daughter, Milana, who was born while Evgeny was in custody.

He was released in August 2024, having fully served his sentence.
