Emma was arrested in September 2021 in connection with a criminal case opened for online comments following the deaths of KGB officer Dmitry Fedosyuk and IT specialist Andrei Zeltser in Minsk.
In September 2022, Emma's pretrial detention was changed and she was transferred from the pretrial detention facility to house arrest.
In November 2022, she was found guilty of "insulting a government official" and "insulting Lukashenko" and taken into custody in the courtroom.
She was released in May 2023, having fully served her sentence.
In October 2024, it became known that a new criminal case had been opened against Emma for "insulting a government official." This was revealed in a news report published in the local district newspaper.
