Oleg was arrested in connection with a criminal case opened for online comments following the deaths of KGB officer Dmitry Fedosyuk and IT specialist Andrei Zeltser in Minsk. In November 2022, he was sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
According to human rights activists, he was released in the summer of 2023, having fully served his sentence.

During the trial, Dmitry first pleaded guilty in full, but during the trial it turned out that in fact the man watched only a piece of the video, because he was going to work and in a hurry, he did not read the news and took the people who opened Zeltser's apartment for criminals, therefore he wrote such a comment. Dmitry Malashenko also did not admit that he could discredit law enforcement officers in general and specifically those who entered the apartment in this way, but just expressed his personal opinion, to which he has the right.

According to the indictment, Alexei posted a comment in a telegram chat on the NEXTA Live channel regarding the shootout between Zeltser and the KGB officers: “That’s what these regime creatures need. I feel sorry for the guy."
On February 23, 2024, he was released after fully serving the sentence imposed by the court.

During the investigation, the Brest resident was initially accused under two articles of the Criminal Code: Article 369 and Article 130. Then the charge under the second article was dropped - although when announcing the charge, the prosecutor used the phrase "for the purpose of inciting hatred" more than once. Sergei Myts himself denied such an interpretation, arguing that he had no malicious intent. But at the trial he fully admitted his guilt under Article 369 of the Criminal Code
