Born in Narva, Estonian SSR, to a Soviet military family. Architect. Graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute.

On his Facebook page, he published posts about the history of Belarus and his views on Russia. "Poland is Belarus's brother, Ukraine its sister!" he wrote in November 2021.

Prior to the trial, the accused was under a travel restriction and was remanded in custody in the courtroom. The Mogilev resident has a third-degree disability, and in April, he spent 17 days undergoing psychological and psychiatric evaluation in Novinki, where he was found sane.

On June 16, 2022, the KGB added him to the list of “persons involved in terrorist activities.”

On September 27, 2022, the appeal was heard and the verdict entered into force.

In June 2025, he was released , having fully served his sentence imposed by the court.
