A criminal case against Alexander was opened on June 23, 2021, following an investigation that had been ongoing since the beginning of the year. The case was opened because in late May 2020, he allegedly left a comment under Olga Karach's post on Odnoklassniki that was found to insult the head of the crime prevention department, Lieutenant Colonel Rudko of the Bobruisk District Police Department.
In August 2021, Alexander was found guilty of insulting a government official and sentenced to restricted freedom in an open correctional facility.
