Maxim served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Security Department since July 2016, serving as a police driver in a special battalion tasked with protecting diplomatic missions. In 2019, he rose to the rank of senior police sergeant.

He was arrested in February 2025 in connection with a criminal case opened under the article "assistance to extremist activity" after Belarusian security forces gained access to the chats of a bot belonging to the Belarusian Gayun monitoring project, where people were sending information about Russian troop movements.

In October 2025, Maxim was found guilty and sentenced to restricted freedom and sent to an open correctional facility.

According to the indictment, on the night of February 9-10, 2021, Tatyana obstructed the lawful activities of police officers, namely, a search of her home. According to the officers, during her arrest, Tatyana bit the finger of one of the officers, bit through the glove of another, and kicked a third officer in the head. They also claimed that the woman called them "bandits," "fascists," and "punishers."

In May 2021, Tatyana was found guilty of "violence or threat of violence against a law enforcement officer" and sentenced to a restricted sentence in an open correctional facility.

Left Belarus before starting to serve her sentence.

In January 2025, a court hearing in absentia was held as part of a special proceeding on the issue of replacing the restriction of freedom with imprisonment with serving the sentence in a penal colony.
