On June 10, 2022, Judge Elena Shilk found Ivan guilty and sentenced him to four years in a general regime penal colony. He was soon transferred from Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 to Mogilev Prison No. 4.

Pavel was detained in March 2021 by traffic police on a highway near Minsk, where leaflets, newspapers and stickers were found in his car; according to the Investigative Committee, "thousands of copies of protest newspapers, stickers with unregistered symbols and leaflets" were seized.
