During the investigation, the Brest resident was initially accused under two articles of the Criminal Code: Article 369 and Article 130. Then the charge under the second article was dropped - although when announcing the charge, the prosecutor used the phrase "for the purpose of inciting hatred" more than once. Sergei Myts himself denied such an interpretation, arguing that he had no malicious intent. But at the trial he fully admitted his guilt under Article 369 of the Criminal Code

The man was accused of leaving an offensive comment under a post with a photo of Gantsevichi traffic police officer Igor Volnich in June 2020, who was pressing his knee to the head of a protester lying on the ground.

In addition to the restriction of freedom, the judge decided to pay 1,500 rubles of moral compensation to the Gantsevichi policeman and confiscate the accused's laptop as a means of committing a crime.

During a search of Maxim Divak's house, protest leaflets with a white-red-white flag, a calendar with the inscription "Pursuit", two fragments of a white-red-white canvas were confiscated.
