Olga Shablyko worked as an English teacher at the Belarusian State University before her arrest. It is known that in 2020, Olga and her husband took an active part in the March Against Terror protest action, which took place in Minsk on November 1.
Before his arrest, Anton Shablyko was engaged in organizing outdoor activities: kayaking on rivers and lakes, rope courses and trainings, tourist trips, including mountain routes. Earlier, Anton was repeatedly detained for participating in protests: he was serving an administrative arrest in November 2020 in the detention center on Akrestsina Street. He was also detained on March 9, 2022, together with his wife Olga, at one of the anti-war rallies in Minsk. It is known that in 2020 they took an active part in the March Against Terror protest action, which took place in Minsk on November 1.
Andrei was arrested on February 18, 2022, in connection with a criminal case involving insulting a government official on the "Punishermen of Belarus" Telegram channel. He was charged with "insulting a government official." It was later revealed that he also faces charges of "insulting Lukashenko," "creating an extremist group," "inciting hatred or discord," and "insulting a judge or assessor." All charges related to comments made on various Telegram channels.
In December 2022, Andrei was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment in a general regime penal colony, as well as a large fine and compensation for 31 "victims."
On December 13, 2025, he was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Ukraine.
Oksana is credited with participating in the march on September 6, 2020, shouting slogans, blocking roads. There are photo and video materials by which she was identified.
