He was detained together with his wife Snezhana Inanets . Snezhana previously worked at TUT.BY, now at Onliner. Alexander is a local historian and journalist from Minsk who, according to the security forces, collaborated with The Village.
On the morning of October 6, they stopped communicating. Later there was information that they were detained. The next day, a telegram channel close to the GUBOPiK posted “repentant” videos with the spouses detained the day before - in the video they say that they were detained for subscribing to telegram channels that the Belarusian authorities recognized as extremist, as well as for participating in protest marches in 2020 year.
