Alexander worked for the Ministry of Emergency Situations for over 15 years. Before his arrest, he was a squad commander at Unit No. 7 in Grodno. He was arrested in September 2021 as part of a criminal case opened for online comments following the deaths of KGB officer Dmitry Fedosyuk and IT specialist Andrei Zeltser in Minsk. Alexander was subsequently fired and ordered to pay seven thousand Belarusian rubles in compensation under his contract.
In August 2022, he was found guilty of "inciting hatred or discord" and "insulting a government official," and sentenced to imprisonment and a large fine.
He was released in October 2022, having fully served his sentence.
