Artem was arrested in November 2021 on charges of "desecration of state symbols" and placed in pretrial detention.
In January 2022, he was found guilty and sentenced to prison. According to the case file, Artem and Gleb Legkiy, while intoxicated, tore the national flag of the Republic of Belarus from the building of a city school on the evening of November 15, 2021, and waved it. They then threw it on the ground, and Artem stomped on it.
According to human rights activists, he was released in the spring of 2023, having fully served his sentence imposed by the court.
