On 19 January 2022, Dzmitry and his friend Uladzislau Bandaryk were detained on Niamiha while filming a drone review for a YouTube blog: riot police checked their phones and found photos and videos from the March of 16 August 2020 in Minsk. The detainees were beaten at the Akrestsina temporary detention facility.
A few days later, Dzmitry was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest for allegedly disobeying the police during the detention, and on the last day of the arrest he was declared a suspect in a criminal case. After a week in a punishment cell at Akrestsina, he was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1, where he spent about two months.
In April 2022, Dzmitry was found guilty in a criminal case opened under the article "Organisation and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them" for taking part in that march, and was sentenced to restricted freedom with referral to an open-type correctional facility.
Released in November 2024 after fully serving the sentence imposed by the court.
