Egor is a student of the biology department of the Belarusian State University, a member of the Belarusian Students' Association and an activist of the Free Trade Union. He was detained on November 12, 2020 and convicted of "participation in group actions that grossly violate public order."

On November 30, 2022, he was released after serving the full sentence imposed by the court.
