Evgeny, one of the founders of the Zubr movement, was arrested on September 25, 2020 and convicted of "preparing for mass riots." He has been repeatedly subjected to repression: fines, arrests, beatings, and pressure.
In April 2022, he was transferred to a prison regime for a term of 2 years. In May 2024, Evgeny returned from a closed prison to IK No. 1 in poor physical condition, but retained a positive attitude. After arriving, he was placed in a punishment cell, then transferred to a PKT.
In July 2024, the court decided to transfer Evgeniy to prison regime until the end of his sentence.
On September 11, 2025, it became known that 52 prisoners of the Belarusian regime were forcibly transferred to the territory of Lithuania. Among them are citizens of European countries . Among those released is Evgeny Afnagel.
