Igor previously headed the Neman glass factory for 12 years. In 2014, the media wrote that Batyan would bear "full financial responsibility" for damage caused to the property of this enterprise during the organization of glass wool production.
Batyan left the glass factory director's chair in 2017. After leaving the enterprise, he headed the department of children's and youth hockey and development of the Belarusian Hockey Federation.
