Ilya was detained on September 15, 2020 and convicted for participating in a peaceful protest that took place on September 6, 2020 in Grodno.
He was released in July 2023 after serving his full sentence as determined by the court.

Prosecutor's appeal date unknown: the sentence was upheld.
