Pavel edited articles on Wikipedia. In November 2021, he was detained in a case of "discrediting Belarus". The case was based on his edits to articles on people killed during the protests, including Hienadz Shutau, and on censorship in Belarus, where he mentioned the murder of journalist Veranika Charkasava, as well as an article about torture in places of detention on the website of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR).
Pavel did not deny his authorship but pleaded not guilty. In April 2022, he was found guilty in a criminal case initiated under the article "Discrediting the Republic of Belarus" and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
Released in August 2023 after serving his full sentence.
