Pavel was found guilty of "violence or threat of violence against a law enforcement officer" and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony. The criminal case against Pavel was opened for obstructing the police arrest of an elderly man during a gathering in Gorodishche on September 18, 2020, which resulted in him striking a police officer.
He was released in January 2023, having fully served his sentence.
