He was detained on November 15, 2020 and arrested for 15 days of administrative arrest for walking through the entire city with a white-red-white flag in memory of the murdered Roman Bondarenko , who was beaten by security forces in the courtyard near his home and died in the hospital from cerebral edema. However, after the arrest, Ruslan was not released, as a criminal case was opened against him, as a result of which he was convicted of "resisting an Interior Ministry officer."
On March 18, 2022, he was re -sentenced for "disobeying the demands of the administration of a correctional institution" to one year in prison.
At the end of July 2024, he was released, having fully served the sentence imposed by the court.
