A Polish citizen , he lived in Kobrin , and his wife, a Belarusian from the Kobrin district , was arrested for his debt to Tomasz and auctioned off on April 25, 2024.

On April 28, 2026, Tomasz was released following lengthy negotiations and an exchange for Belarusian spies in Poland. He was immediately transported to Poland.
