Victor Anatolyevich Rupeka

Former head of Intex-Press. Intex-Press was the largest and most successful independent regional media outlet in Belarus, but the authorities crushed it in 2021.

After the authorities liquidated the largest regional publication, Intex-Press, in 2023, Yanukevich and Pokolenko created the regional news portal bar24.by. In December 2024, bar24.by's editorial office and employees' apartments were searched, and some employees were detained.

Yanukevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison and a fine of 135,000 rubles (approximately 40,000 euros), while Pokolenko was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fine of 45,000 rubles (approximately 13,000 euros). According to the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ ), "there is information about a huge total fine of approximately 200,000 rubles (approximately 60,000 euros)."

The nature of the charges is unknown.

Volodymyr Yanukevich, 65, served as director and editor-in-chief of the independent regional newspaper Intex-Press. Andriy Pokolenko, 44, served as deputy development director for the same media outlet. After the newspaper's closure, they created the news website BAR24. The website went down in January 2025.

Vladimir Yanukovych has previously been persecuted . He was twice tried and fined under the Code of Administrative Offenses for publishing an interview with Tikhanovskaya, and in February 2023, security forces raided the premises of Intex-Press Publishing House.

In addition to the imprisonment and a large fine, as reported by the Belarusian Association of Journalists, “there is information about a huge total fine of approximately 200,000 rubles (approximately 60,000 euros).”

Employees of the Baranovichi media outlet BAR24 were detained in December 2024. Law enforcement officers searched their homes and the city portal's editorial office, seizing equipment. Several were released, while the rest faced criminal charges.

A craftsman from Baranovichi, Sergei was arrested in February 2025. He was initially sentenced to 24 hours in jail under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, then charged under Article 188 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

Judging by social media, the man worked in various blue-collar jobs in his hometown.

The nature of the charges is unknown, but is almost certainly related to his social media activity.

Alexander has a business in the construction industry.

He was arrested in early April 2024. In a "confessional" video from April 4, 2024, he "confessed" to "waving his hand" to the crowd during the rally, saying "surround the riot police," and throwing stones.

The Brest Regional Prosecutor's Office listed the actions for which the young man is being prosecuted under four articles: nine donations to a YouTube channel "used for informational support" of the Kalinovsky Regiment. Furthermore, in 2024, the young man wrote messages in Telegram chats containing "public insults" against Alexander Lukashenko, as well as messages allegedly falling under Article 361 of the Criminal Code (Calls for sanctions). Finally, in October 2024, the Brest resident apparently attempted to join the "Peramoga" plan ( "activated correspondence with a Telegram bot, filled out the proposed form, providing information about himself and his skills, thereby joining it," and completed a "test task" ).

Oleg Suprunyuk is known to residents of Brest region as a reporter who covered socially and publicly significant problems of the region. During his time in the profession, he worked for the newspaper "Brest Courier", the online publication "First Region", and collaborated with other independent publications.

The journalist disappeared on January 22, he stopped answering calls and did not appear on social networks. It later became clear that he was detained as part of a criminal case. For almost five months, nothing was known about Oleg's fate.

Previously, the journalist was prosecuted under an administrative article. On December 12, 2024, security forces came to Oleg Suprunyuk with a search. Then they took away his computer equipment and phone, and took him away for questioning. After the interrogation, an administrative protocol was drawn up for allegedly distributing "extremist information products" (under Part 2 of Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The journalist was sentenced to 15 days of arrest, and was released on December 27.
