A resident of the village of Shchorsy in the Novogrudok district. He was accused of reposting a message from the group "Grodno Region of Change!" on his page on the social network "Odnoklassniki". The message itself was dedicated to two employees of penal institutions.
Before the trial, Viktor Pilzhis was placed under house arrest as a preventive measure from September 12, 2022. This means that Pilzhis was prohibited from leaving his home, using the Internet, or using communications.
In addition to the two-year prison sentence, the court ordered Viktor Pilzhis to pay the two security officials 10,000 Belarusian rubles as compensation for their moral damages.
On 06.12.2022, the appeal was heard and the verdict came into force.
According to human rights activists , he was released on October 12, 2024, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.
