In the Minsk City Court from October 10, 2023 to February 6, 2024, a closed hearing was held against three customs service employees Evgeniy Gurinovich, Viktor Novik and Vladimir Zhuromsky. In total, they were tried under eight articles of the Criminal Code. Among other things, they are accused of “treason to the state,” “promoting extremist activities,” “exceeding official authority,” “inciting other social hostility,” and “creating or participating in extremist formations.”
The details of the case and the reasons for the persecution are unknown to human rights activists.
On May 24, 2024, an appeal hearing was held and the verdict entered into force.

After the sentence comes into effect, it is only possible to write letters to a prisoner. According to article 85 of the Penal Enforcement Code, prisoners cannot receive money transfers from persons who are not family members. Parcels are also only possible from relatives. How to write a letter

✏️ It is important to share news. Mention the most notable and interesting occurrences depending on your pen-pal's interests.
✍️️ Remember that every letter is censored. This means that your letters are read by strangers whose main goal is to limit inmates' access to information or to use it against the prisoners or even you.
So try to avoid:

👉 statements against the authorities and public servants
👉 foul language
👉 discussion of the circumstances of the criminal case
