Alexander, a human rights activist from Molodechno, was detained on December 17, 2021, and sentenced to administrative arrest four times in a row. The arrest was precipitated by reposts of "extremist materials" in a local human rights chat.
Released on February 15, 2022, after 60 days of administrative arrest.
Nikolai, a former village council member, was detained on January 14, 2021. His home had been searched earlier, on January 6. Investigators were looking for "extremism and symbols," but found nothing. The search warrant stated that Nikolai had made "unflattering" remarks about the All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
The basis for his arrest was his letter to the regional newspaper "Mayak" regarding a discussion of constitutional amendments. His actions were initially classified as inciting social discord, and the regional newspaper published a critical article. The charges were later reclassified.
In June 2022, Nikolai was found guilty of "discrediting the Republic of Belarus" and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
He was released on June 28, 2022, having fully served his sentence.
Olga was arrested in December 2021 in connection with a criminal case opened under the article "financing group actions that grossly violate public order."
According to the investigation, from August 13 to December 19, 2020, Olga, along with other individuals, allegedly financed participants in unauthorized mass events by paying fines, legal fees, state fees, and providing other financial assistance.
In July 2022, Olga was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
She was released in July 2023, having fully served her sentence.
