Vladimir, an activist and local historian from Baranovichi, has a disability of the second group - he has one leg. Detained on December 30, 2020 in the “Autukhovich case” on charges of “preparing a terrorist attack.” The first trial took place in May 2021, where he was convicted under Article 366 of the Criminal Code for violence against an official. Vladimir was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony.
The consideration of the “Autukhovich case” began on May 18, 2022. During the trial, Vladimir was repeatedly removed from the hearings and sent to a punishment cell. At one of the June meetings, he was placed in a cage in only underpants, his hands were handcuffed to the bars in a stretch position. In response, Vladimir went on a hunger strike, which he kept for 11 days. In this case, he was sentenced under Articles 285 and 357 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus to 18 years in prison.
In mid-December 2022, it became known that Vladimir was charged with insulting prosecutor Lyudmila Gerasimenko, who represented the prosecution in the “Autukhovich case” under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, and a sentence of 2.5 years in prison was added.
In October 2023, he was transferred to prison regime for 3 years.
