Igor was arrested in September 2024 for calling for protests in chat rooms; a pro-government channel published a video of him. In the recording, he claims to have been a member of destructive chat rooms in 2020, where he allegedly "urged people to coordinate and damage state property." Security officials also showed screenshots of messages about "fake courtyard chat rooms" and "targeted exits for sabotage," but the author of these messages is unknown.

The man is 50 years old. He was the founder or director of several companies involved in the import of computers and computer components. Most recently, he was deputy director of commercial affairs at Avard Service and director of SanRan.

It's unclear exactly when he was detained , but it was more than six months ago. The KGB included Rushkevich among the members of the "extremist group Trielit," along with businessman Vladimir Balabanovich, who is on trial for calling for sanctions.

The chat was probably hacked because of one of the detainees.

In the spring of 2026, he was released , having fully served his sentence.
