Pro-government Telegram channels reported that Vyacheslav was detained in late July 2023 in Grodno while returning to Belarus from abroad, and that he allegedly left around a thousand comments in "extremist" chats and channels. Vyacheslav is a married resident of Minsk and a paintball enthusiast. According to these channels, security forces were able to identify him because he signed his Telegram account with his real name.
