Sutyrko is a former KGB officer who left the agency about 10 years ago. He was detained shortly after returning from Poland. Igor, in addition to Belarusian, also holds Polish citizenship.
After leaving the KGB around 2014, Igor took up programming. He lived in Poland for several years, but in April he returned to Belarus, where he was detained. He is charged under Article 356 of the Criminal Code (treason).
He left behind a wife and minor children.
How to write a letter

✍️️ Remember that every letter is censored. This means that your letters are read by strangers whose main goal is to limit inmates' access to information or to use it against the prisoners or even you.
So try to avoid:
👉️️ harsh statements regarding ongoing political matters
👉 statements against the authorities and public servants
👉 foul language
👉 discussion of the circumstances of the criminal case
