According to the prosecution, on 6 March 2021 Andrei posted a comment on social media about Lidziya Yarmoshyna, who then headed the Central Election Commission. What the comment said was not disclosed, but a linguistic examination found it to be a statement "expressed in an indecent form".
In February 2022, Andrei was found guilty in a criminal case opened under the article "Insulting a representative of the authorities" for this comment.
According to human rights defenders’ estimates, he was released in April 2024 after serving the full sentence imposed by the court.
