In early March 2022, Siarhei was detained by officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GUBOPiK). In a "repentance" video he said that he had been detained for registering in the Peramoga plan and taking part in "destructive" chats.
According to the prosecution, in March 2022 Siarhei discussed in a Telegram chat buying assault rifles and ammunition and bringing them to Belarus, called for damaging railway transport and left comments that were deemed insulting to officials and Lukashenko.
In November 2022, Siarhei was found guilty in a criminal case brought under several articles, including "Mass riots" and "Calls for actions aimed at harming national security", and sentenced to a long term of imprisonment.
