Igor is a former officer of the Almaz special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a captain at the time of his dismissal. He is credited with participating in the brutal dispersal of protesters at the intersection of Pushkin and Pritytskogo streets (Pushkinskaya metro station) in Minsk in 2020.
