Sergei expressed his desire to run for president. However, before the start of the election campaign, he was arrested for organizing an unauthorized event. His wife, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, submitted documents to the CEC using a power of attorney, but he was not registered as a candidate due to the absence of his signature on the power of attorney. Then his wife was registered as a candidate herself. After his release, Sergei became Svetlana Tikhanovskaya’s confidant and participated in the collection of signatures. He was detained during the picket and convicted on several criminal charges.
In January 2023, Sergei was charged with another charge for “malicious disobedience to the requirements of the administration of a correctional institution,” and he was additionally sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.
(1) 18 years of imprisonment under enhanced security conditions;
(2) 1.5 years of imprisonment in a colony under enhanced security conditions;
by total addition: 19.5 years of imprisonment under strict security conditions
The politician was detained on May 31, 2020 on the way to the election picket of presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. Initially, Nikolai received 30 days of administrative arrest, but was never released. He was subsequently convicted in a criminal case for “organizing mass riots.”
14 years of imprisonment under special regime conditions
The journalist and consultant for Radio Liberty, as well as the administrator of the telegram channel “Belarus of the Brain,” was detained on June 25, 2020 and convicted of “organizing mass riots.”
15 years of imprisonment under enhanced security conditions
The banker, a prominent public figure and presidential candidate, was detained along with his son while on his way to the Central Election Commission to submit the collected signatures.
Victor was convicted under articles 235 and 430 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
14 years of imprisonment under enhanced security conditions
He was detained on June 4, 2020. Participated in a picket to collect signatures for Tikhanovskaya. Charges have been brought under Articles 342 and 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In July 2022, he was transferred to prison regime.
On July 21, 2023, Vladimir was added one more year to his term under Art. 411 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (Malicious disobedience to the requirements of the colony administration).
5 years of imprisonment under strict conditions
Lawyer and member of the presidium of the Coordination Council for the Resolution of the Political Crisis.
Maxim was detained on September 9, 2020 and charged with conspiracy and extremist activities, including public calls to seize power and actions threatening national security, using the media and the Internet.
Trial outcome 06.09.2021: 10 years of imprisonment under enhanced security conditions.
Appeal 24.12.2021: the sentence was upheld.

She was kidnapped on September 7, 2020 and forcibly brought to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border to be expelled from the country. There, Maria tore up her passport and refused to leave Belarus.
On September 9, 2020, it became known about the arrest and detention.
Trial outcome 06.09.2021: 11 years of imprisonment under general regime conditions.
Appeal 24.12.2021: the sentence was upheld.
